An Integrated Software-based Solution for Modular and Self-independent Networked Robot

An integrated software-based solution for a modular and self-independent networked robot is introduced. The wirelessly operatable robot has been developed mainly for autonomous monitoring works with full control over web. The integrated software solution covers three components : a) the digital signal processing unit for data retrieval and monitoring system; b) the externally executable codes for control system; and c) the web programming for interfacing the end-users with the robot. It is argued that this integrated software-based approach is crucial to realize a flexible, modular and low development cost mobile monitoring apparatus.Comment: 9 pages, Proceeding of the 10th International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Visio

A Study on Latex Drying Characteristics with Difference of Thickness Using Greenhouse Effect Dryer

Latex just been tapped has a high level ofmoisture content. To be useful for production, latex should be dried toreducewater content. Latex drying by rubber farmers is commonly to do conducted in opened areas for 14 dayswith a very thick size of latex. Therefore, we should be solutions to make latex drying faster. This research, latexdryingwas treatment by using greenhouse effect dryerwith difference of thickness. The aims of this researchwasto find out characteristics of latex drying using dimension of greenhouse effect dryer is 150 x 70 x 120 cm. Latexwas coagulated on containers, with dimension of containers is 40 x 10 x 15 cm. Latex was formed with anequipmentwhich intervals of 2, 1.5, and 1 cmand thenslabwas dried. Result of this research, latexwas driedwithgreenhouse for 9 hour/day for 6 days along. Temperatures of greenhouse effect dryer ranged from30 to 500Cwithrelative humidity of approximately 47%. The treatment with thickness of 2, 1,5 and 1 cm has final moisturecontent respectively were 9.53%, 8.96%, and 5.87%bb, and drying acceleration during drying process were0.3773%, 0.4119%, and 0.4445%w/w / day

Exhaustive Search-based Model for Hybrid Sensor Network

A new model for a cluster of hybrid sensors network with multi sub-clusters is proposed. The model is in particular relevant to the early warning system in a large scale monitoring system in, for example, a nuclear power plant. It mainly addresses to a safety critical system which requires real-time processes with high accuracy. The mathematical model is based on the extended conventional search algorithm with certain interactions among the nearest neighborhood of sensors. It is argued that the model could realize a highly accurate decision support system with less number of parameters. A case of one dimensional interaction function is discussed, and a simple algorithm for the model is also given.Comment: 6 pages, Proceeding of the International Conference on Intelligent & Advanced Systems 2012 pp. 557-56

On Modeling Geometric Joint Sink Mobility with Delay-Tolerant Cluster-less Wireless Sensor Networks

Moving Sink (MS) in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) has appeared as a blessing because it collects data directly from the nodes where the concept of relay nodes is becomes obsolete. There are, however, a few challenges to be taken care of, like data delay tolerance and trajectory of MS which is NP-hard. In our proposed scheme, we divide the square field in small squares. Middle point of the partitioned area is the sojourn location of the sink, and nodes around MS are in its transmission range, which send directly the sensed data in a delay-tolerant fashion. Two sinks are moving simultaneously; one inside and having four sojourn locations and other in outer trajectory having twelve sojourn locations. Introduction of the joint mobility enhances network life and ultimately throughput. As the MS comes under the NP-hard problem, we convert it into a geometric problem and define it as, Geometric Sink Movement (GSM). A set of linear programming equations has also been given in support of GSM which prolongs network life time
